Episode 100: Hey there! We made it. Please, hold your applause. It’s pretty crazy that this podcast had 100 episodes. Most of them out there do, and now The Potter Discussion is part of the One Hundo Episode Club. Cool. This episode was on the list for a while, but I never intended it to be episode 100. I always thought it would an episode hybrid or something like that, but this seems to work just the same. Originally, I was going to make this is regular discussion episode, but I started to play around with the idea of it being something more. Making an audio drama type episode was an episode I had always wanted to make. With this episode, it started out as just an experiment. Just a simple test of what an audio drama was like to produce. In the trials I conducted, the minute or two of audio I came out with wasn’t actually the worst thing in the world. After the third test, it became clear to me that these ‘trials’ had the potential to become something. From that moment on, operation Chilled Pangolin began. The name Chilled Pangolin was not part of that aspect of the plan. I just called it that to sound weird while explaining it to someone. Anyway, the first step was the script. The script took a surprisingly short time to finish, at just three weeks. That may have been because I had been planning this episode in my head for a very long time before the writing of the script. When the script was complete, the hard part was staring me in the face. The put-together. I recorded the script and got to work. The most difficult by far was the actual composing of it all. Believe it or not, the music is of my own creation. I had a very specific image of what the music could do for the episode, and it turned out to be more difficult than previously anticipated. The instruments I had at my disposal where plentiful, but almost to much so. It was hard to find just the right thing to use for a section or think of timing and rhythms. However, after the beginning few minutes of the episode, I found it easier to finish the episode. It took about a month to finish the first five minutes and the rest of the time to finish the rest of the episode. And when it was finally finished, then started the beta faze. I gave to first draft of the episode to some friends and family to see what was working and what wasn’t. It turned out most of the first draft of the episode wasn’t that bad. Only a few changes had to be made. And so it was that episode 100 was finished.

Season 5 Episode 12: In this episode we break down the fifth year and uncover The Dumbledore Scheme 5. Enjoy!
Summary: The fifth year at Hogwarts was unusually challenging for both Harry and Dumbledore. With the Ministry of Magic and Voldemort causing trouble, Dumbledore’s plan A, B, and the Backup plan were all enabled. The first big challenge for Dumbledore was Umbridge. Umbridge would never leave Dumbledore’s side. Not out of loyalty, however. Umbridge wanted to make sure Dumbledore wasn’t doing anything that might upset the Ministry. Dumbledore also had to deal with Voldemort. Voldemort was in fact on the rise, making things that much harder for Dumbledore. So what was Dumbledore’s plan? Dumbledore would have wanted something else to happen that year, but Umbridge and Voldemort made that impossible. The fifth year, Dumbledore wanted the following: for Harry to have private lessons and learn more DADA, for Voldemort to be defeated, and for Snape to teach Harry occlumency. All those things Dumbledore wanted to happen, but the year went by too fast. Harry learning occlumency was the only thing on Dumbledore’s list that happened. But we do see the rest of them happen. Harry took private lessons in the sixth year and Voldemort was defeated after that. In conclusion, Dumbledore had a very long list of items but simply didn’t have time to complete them all.

Season 5 Episode 11:
In this episode we discuss three situations where the rules of the veil might not apply. Enjoy!
Summary: There are so many ways to die in Harry Potter. You could fall off a cliff, get pushed off a bride, or even got hit with rock from the sky. But the most unexplained in certainly the veil. The one and only person we have ever known who has gone through the veil was Sirius Black. What happened to him? he wasn’t fully dead when he entered the veil for a start. So was he both living and dead? Yes he was. Because Sirius was in the process of getting killed as he was going through the veil, he was forced into a state of limbo. The veil wanted to fully kill him while his still living side wanted to keep him alive. Another odd situation would be if a person entered the veil and was pulled out. What would happen to them? The veil doesn’t want your body, it wants you soul. So if that person were to fully enter the veil, their soul would be taken and that would be it. So if they were pulled out, you might get the body. Not the person inside. Finally, if you threw a dead body into the veil what would happen? The answer to this question can be found in the previous question. The veil only wants your soul. So throwing in a dead body would be saving the veil an entire step in the process.

Season 5 Episode 9: In this episode I pull back the curtain of the fourth year at Hogwarts. Enjoy!
Summary: Albus Dumbledore has something up his sleeve at all times. He leaves his house with a plan to maximize his grocery shopping. You get the point. The fourth year at Hogwarts was especially difficult for both Harry and Dumbledore for different reasons. For Dumbledore, his plan couldn’t take effect because of the Triwizard Tournament. For Harry, his year wasn’t easy because he was competing in the Triwizard Tournament. But the year took another turn when Voldemort wanted to come back. What should Dumbledore do? Every year before that one, Dumbledore taught a practical lesson. A spell or some kind of advanced magic. Not the fourth year. Dumbledore had to scramble to find something else to teach. We find out what that was in the speech Dumbledore gave at the end of the year at the feast. He spoke about strength in numbers and only being as strong as your weakest link. That tells us everything we need to know. The lesson Dumbledore taught is about unity. Dumbledore saw the pain everyone was going through and made the right decision.

Season 5 Episode 8:
In this episode I explain the origin of Moody’s staff. Enjoy!
Summary: Mad-Eye Moody is the slightly crazy and paranoid but brilliant auror who has a mad-eye and a mood. He stomps around with his eye and staff, never taking a break. Moody got his eye when the real one was blasted out of its socket. Moody got his staff when his leg was blasted off. His staff, however, is much more of a mystery. It is so intricate and made with such care, there is no way you will find something like that on the street. So where did it come from? We can only assume Moody got his staff when his leg was… removed. And because I don’t think your average high school bully takes off legs for fun, the incident must have happened when Moody became an auror. An unknown fact is Moody can’t produce a corporeal patronus. Why? Moody is one of the most powerful wizards of his time. A corporeal patronus should be the least of his abilities. There is only one solution. Moody got a different wand when he was eleven, and used it all the way through his education. When the M. O. M. came to his door to hire him, he took up the post with his wand he got at age eleven. But soon after taking up the post, he faced a very powerful death eater who needed to be taken in. They dueled and dueled, with Moody finally coming out on top. But in the process, the death eater blew off Moody’s leg with a very nasty curse. So to mark the occasion, Moody took the death eater’s wand and fashioned a staff to go with it.

Season 5 Episode 7: In this episode we discuss the third stage of Dumbledore’s plan: The Dumbledore Scheme 3. Enjoy!
Summary: Albus Dumbledore is one of the most careful and practiced long term thinkers in Harry Potter. He places every little piece on the pile until it all gets knocked down. But Dumbledore puts it back up. Every time. The third book was another great time for Dumbledore to take advantage of the things he could use. For example: the defenses of Hogwarts, the Hogsmeade permission form, and many other little things that didn’t quite add up. The story starts with Harry getting his letter from Hogwarts with the Hogsmeade permission form. Right off the bat there’s some weird stuff going on. A Hogsmeade permission form? In the later years the Hogsmeade permission form became something of a formality. The form was only required in the third year. Some might say that’s because they only needed authorization the first time you go, but the Hogsmeade permission form is only active for one year. They would need another one for the later years. But they don’t. Odd. The Weasleys also seem to have gotten instructions from Dumbledore. In the second book we see how little money the Weasleys have. One galleon and a small pile of sicles. That’s it! But in the third book they win the Daily Prophet Grand Prize! The Weasleys then turn around and spend all that money on a trip to Egypt. Why? If they needed it so badly why spend it all? Keep in mind, Dumbledore wanted that to happen. There were many other situations where Dumbledore had influence. The bottom line is: Dumbledore isn’t all what he seems.

In this episode we decide who would win: Harry or Bellatrix. Enjoy!
Summary: Harry Potter and Bellatrix Lestrange are some of the most unlikely people to meet. But they do. A lot. A whole lot. The obvious explanation is Voldemort. Harry and Voldemort have been bitter rivals from the start. Bellatrix has always been Voldemort’s side, so Harry and Bellatrix must have met a lot. Harry and Bellatrix seem to be the exact opposite. Bellatrix is a cold blooded killer who would stop at nothing to get what she wants. Harry is a good person who fights for the protection of good and his loved ones. But that’s on the outside. On the inside, Harry and Bellatrix are very similar. They are both working towards a goal they think is right, and achievable. They both are very powerful and loyal to their side of the fight. Unfortunately that is where the similarities stop. So if Harry and Bellatrix were put in a room, who would win? I think the more powerful magical being is Bellatrix. Bellatrix knows how to get under your skin and taught you until you either break down or are too unstable to put up a fight.

In this episode we discuss the notion of a muggle being the master of the elder wand. Enjoy!
Summary: The elder wand is the most powerful thing in wizard history. It is one of the three items of the deathly hallows. Wizard weapons have always been much more powerful than muggles. With the elder wand, wizard kind has never been stronger. The only way for muggles to over take wizards in the race for power is if muggles could master the elder wand. But there is no way to do that. Right? The Harry Potter Wiki article on the elder wand gives us some very interesting information. It seems as if the only requirements for being the master of the elder wand stand thus: you have to be accepting of death. That’s it. I’m 1,000,000% sure any muggle could be accepting of death. But then there’s the issue of actually acquiring ownership. There is a solution for that too. remember when Harry became the master of the elder wand by just physically taking the wand out of Draco’s hand? That is the way. A muggle could be the master of the elder wand. However, wizards would take it right back.

In this episode I explain what would happen if you deified the Goblet of Fire. Enjoy!
Summary: The Goblet of Fire is one of the oldest and most powerful magical object in the entire wizarding world. It is used to pick the three champions for the Tri-Wizard tournament. When Harry was picked as the fourth and un-willing contestant, there was an uproar. Harry was too young, the second champion from the same school, and the fourth champion overall. What could be done? The professors scrambled to find some solution. It was eventually decided Harry was to compete. But what would happen if he didn’t? Nothing? Something? Let’s investigate. The only constant in these kinds of magical contracts is, for some reason, fire. An unbreakable vow uses fire to bind the two parties. Might it be the same for the Goblet of Fire? When an unbreakable vow is broken, the party in question dies. If you think about it, there is no reason for the Goblet to be any different. But how would a person die from the Goblet? Making an eternal deal is not taken lightly. Once entered the only out is death. So end that magical contract prematurely would be to cut your eternity short, essentially end your reality. In this case, your realty is the entire span of your life. So ending the forever that is the eternal contract, would be stopping the clock on your life.

In this episode I explain the origins of the veil. Enjoy!
Summary: The veil is a magical and mysterious artifact. For that reason, we don’t know much about it. The veil is an archway connecting the land of the the living to the land of the dead. The catch: once you go through once, you can’t come back. We have covered the veil before, but not the background. Where did the veil come from? Who made it? We can answer these questions with just two simple facts. One: in the Harry Potter Wiki article, it is stated the Unspeakables (the people who work in the Department of Mysteries) are constantly studying the veil. That means they don’t know much about the veil. And two: the veil wasn’t build for the Ministry of Magic. The Ministry was built around the veil! Now we know the veil is very old, powerful, has a strong connection with both life and death, and is so important the Ministry was founded because of it. What could make all those things? Cadmus Peverll. Cadmus has the resurrection stone! The stone does all of those things. His story goes like this: Cadmus brought his deceased bride back from the dead. But she couldn’t live in that world, so she was dragged back to death. Cadmus killed himself with grief, so he could be with her forever. Let’s make some revisions. Cadmus gets shiny new stone and tries to bring back bride. But when that doesn’t work, he tries again. And again. And again. Finally, Cadmus makes something new. A veil that would allow him instead to travel to the land of the dead. What Cadmus didn’t realize: his creation was one way. So when Cadmus went through the veil, he never came back.

In this episode I put Snape and McGonagall head to head to see who would win. Enjoy!
Summary: Snape or McGonagall. Who would win? Both wizards have great power and knowledge, but who has more? Snape likes the spells that cause pain. Plain and simple. Snape’s style of magic is very nasty, but effective nonetheless. We can tell his style of magic by the spells he made in his youth. Some cause huge gashes on your chest and arms, while others take your wand and yank you up into the air. Not very friendly. McGonagall on the other hand is a little different. As the transfiguration teacher, she can cast very complicated spells without thinking. McGonagall’s preferred way of magic is defense, not offense. She knows dozens of ways to block spells. But that’s not all. McGonagall has some very Snape-like spells under her belt as well. In their previous duel, we saw some of those spells. McGonagall goes for the flashy and big sort type spells whereas Snape just goes for the kill. And for that reason I think Snape would win. Don’t get me wrong, both are very skilled and powerful. Snape would just have the upper hand. He can get into McGonagall’s head and use her worst fears against her. And unfortunately for McGonagall, fear is her kryptonite.

Thanks again for an awesome season, we’ve made it so far! As I promised, I will not write a book of thanks in the show notes. Instead, I’ll give you some useful information. Because season 4 was such a success, we are kicking season 5 off with a bang. The first theory will be another episode in the versus series. The two people dueling will be Snape and McGonagall. We saw them have a mini-duel in the 7th book, but never a proper duel. The next theory will be about the veil, and who created it. Past that, I don’t know. If you have a theory you want to hear, email me the idea here: ThePotterDiscussion@gmail.com
Use this recycled information to your advantage, and I’ll see you later!
Season 4 Episode 15:
Wow! What a season. We had such an awesome season and I couldn’t thank you enough. The season 4 highlight reel will be something a little different from the season 3 highlight reel. For season 3 I re-read the best theories of the season and that was pretty much it. This season I plan to give you the rest of my thoughts on the best theories of this season. As you know, there is a ton of work that goes behind every installment of The Potter Discussion so I have a ton to say. Even after I stop recording (and even now) I still think about all the great things I could have said in the episode. Now I can! Thanks again for a really amazing season.

Summary: Destroying a horcrux has been one of the hardest things to do in the Harry Potter story for almost the entire franchise. Killing Voldemort was that much more of a challenge because of his horcruxes. Today, I’ve found another way to destroy a horcrux. We know fiend fire and basilisk venom will do the trick, but what about something like the veil in the Ministry of Magic or a dementor? The veil is the archway leading from the land of the living to the land of the dead. The question here is: is putting a horcrux into the dead land destroying it? Or is it just putting it into a safer place? A dementor is a soul-sucking creature of darkness that feeds on the fear and sadness of their enemies. A dementor can perform a dementor’s kiss, which sucks the soul out of a person or object. Which one will work? I think the dementor has the upper hand here. Like I explained in a past episode, killing a horcrux only removes it from the land of the living and binds the maker to death. And for that reason, the veil would not work. A dementor on the other hand will destroy a horcrux. When a dementor removes the soul from something, it takes that soul in for itself. Because every dementor is technically dead, it would not need the soul in question. So when the soul is removed from the object or person, it is dis-carded. The soul would go to a place where nothing would need it. In a sense, it is destroyed.

In this episode I explain why Jacob Kawolski is descended from Helga Hufflepuff. Enjoy!
Summary: In the last episode I told you why I think Jacob is a squib. But a very important question wasn’t answered. A squib is a person with magical family but no magical powers. So who is Jacob’s magical family? We already know he’s a squib, but we don’t know who made him that way. Today, I tell you why that person is Helga Hufflepuff. Yes, the creator of Hogwarts, maker of fine sweets. That’s the first point. Jacob said the making of pastries has been in his family for years. Family? For years? That tradition may have been started by Helga herself. Another connection between Jacob and Helga is that word ‘Hufflepuff.’ Huff reminds me of the Three Little Pigs. The one doing the huffing is the big bad wolf. Wolves are one of two common animals around the area where Helga lived. The other common animal is a badger. That’s odd. A badger is the animal of Hufflepuff. That means the things close to the place Helga lived are important to her. How does Jacob fit into all of this? Well, an unknown fact about Jacob is he lived in Poland before New York. That’s a lot closer to Wales where Helga lived. Kawolski means, ‘Son of Smith’. The only other known family of Helga Hufflepuff is Hepzibah. Hepzibah Smith.

In this episode I tell you why I think Jacob is a squib. Enjoy!
Summary: Jacob Kowalski is the supposed muggle baker from New York. He lives alone, and works in the Caning Factory. But I think that there is something special about Jacob no-one knew about. I think Jacob Kowalski is a squib. I think that because Jacob sees thing a normal muggle can’t. The most prominent is Hogwarts. In the final scenes of The Crimes of Grindelwald Jacob and his friends arrive at Hogwarts. But does Jacob see a run down house instead of a castle? No! We can see Jacob looking up and down at the castle in front of him. It is clearly stated in the fifth book of Harry Potter that only a witch, wizard, or squib could see the castle. But Jacob could see it fine. If he is defiantly not a wizard, what other options could there be? Jacob can also see the obscurus. In the screen play, it is said that an obscurus is invisible to the muggle eye. but Jacob can see the obscurus in Newt’s case and Credence just fine. Sometimes, a coincidence just isn’t in the cards.

In this episode I explain what the true limits of an animagus is. Enjoy!
Summary: Being an animagus is no easy task. According to Pottermore, one would have to go through a month-long process of spell casting, potion brewing, and much more. When the process is done, the witch or wizard would have to drink the potion they created and cross the finish line. But what then? What animal do they turn into? Can they even choose? The answer is no. The animal to which you will shortly appear will pop into your mind right when the transformation began. Like a patronus. A patronus in its corporeal form is the inner most values of the person casting the spell. So what would stop a patronus from being more than an animal? Could it be something else? I think so. A patronus isn’t the coolest animal, and a pet the person had, it’s the values and desires the caster possesses. That means they might have the values of a tree or plant. It may seem strange, but it’s true.

In this episode I give you a rundown of a duel between Voldemort and Grindelwald as well as who I think would win. Enjoy!
Summary: There have been many great duels over the course of the Harry Potter story. But there is one duel that we never got to see. Voldemort vs. Grindelwald. And that may be the biggest duel of all. Who would win? Voldemort has a more theatrical style of magic. He likes to use other people’s powers and spells against them. We see him do just that on the duel with Dumbledore. Voldemort and Dumbledore lock spells, and Voldemort is on the losing end. In a snap decision, he catches both spells and turns them into a huge snake made out of fiend fire. Grindelwald however, goes about dueling a little differently. Although we don’t have too many duels of Grindelwald that we saw, just from the sample size we can get a pretty clear image. Grindelwald is an extremely powerful wizard. Not just with casting spells, but with words. We see him sway an entire crowd using only a speech. But with that aside, Grindelwald is very good with spells. He prefers spell that have more that one purpose. Offense and defense. For that reason, I have to choose Grindelwald. He knows his stuff, and that’s what matters.

In this episode I tell you if a Muggle could make a horcrux. Enjoy!
Summary: Making a horcrux is un-speakable act of evil only the darkest of wizards would commit. In order to make a horcrux, you would have to deliberately commit murder, then cast a spell to bring the shattered soul outside your body and into another object. Many people die in the process, because it is so painful and evil. But what if not only the magical population could make a horcrux? What is a Muggle could too? That may sound crazy, but according to HarryPotterWiki.com, the spell used to make a horcrux only controls the soul when it is outside of the body. That seems like a very achievable thing for a Muggle to do. They have energy transferring machines already. It may be a long time before this goal is reached, but they just might get there none the less.

In this episode I tell you the true plan of Dumbledore in the second book. Enjoy!
Summary: From the first part in this series, we know how much of a planner Dumbledore is. And he is back at it again in the second book. Although I don’t think he opened the Chamber of Secrets, everything besides that was orchestrated by Dumbledore. By hiring Gilderoy Lockhart, Dumbledore is trying to do three things for Harry. Dumbledore wanted to test Harry’s loyalty, give him self-awareness, and give Harry protection. Harry’s loyalty was tested two times. The first time was when Dumbledore asked Harry, “Is there anything you would like to tell my, Harry?” Dumbledore asked Tom Riddle that same question all those years ago. The second time Dumbledore tested Harry’s loyalty was with Fawkes. Dumbledore said that only if Harry was truly loyal to Dumbledore would Fawkes appear. And appear he did. Dumbledore tested Harry’s self- awareness by doing one thing: hiring Gilderoy Lockhart. Dumbledore may have known how much of a boaster Lockhart was. By hiring him, Harry would have to put himself in check. Dumbledore was making sure Harry wasn’t going down the path of Tom Riddle by doing this. Finally, Dumbledore gave Harry protection in the form of the disarming charm, expelliarmus. That spell is what saves Harry’s life on many occasions. If we trace the spell back to when and where Harry first saw it, we find the dueling club. Dumbledore could have easily told Lockhart to start a dueling club and teach that spell. But it wasn’t Lockhart who cast that spell. It was Snape. All the more easy for Dumbledore to carry out his big plan.

In this episode I reveal what Dumbledore’s actual plan was. Enjoy!
Summary: We never truly understand what Dumbledore’s plan is. That is because he doesn’t confide in anyone. And, his plan is forever changing. This is Dumbledore’s true plan in the first Harry Potter book. Dumbledore started by bringing Harry to the Dursley’s where he grew up. When Harry turned eleven, Dumbledore could have sent anyone to pick Harry up, but Hagrid was the one picked. That may have been because Dumbledore wanted Harry to become good friends with Hagrid from the start. That turned out well, as Hagrid helped Harry a lot through his days at Hogwarts. Then, after Harry got all his things from Diagon Alley, he spent a fortnight at the Dursley’s house before going to King’s Cross to catch the Hogwarts Express. But oh no! Harry has no idea where to go. That is when Mrs. Wealsy shows up, loudly saying how the train station was packed with muggles. That seems a little too perfect. And as we see the Weaslys being great assets to Harry, we can assume Dumbledore might have told Mrs. Weasly what to do. Then Harry goes to Hogwarts. There, all seems well until the students are informed of a mystery in the castle. When Harry and his friends are running from Filch one night, they stumble into that very secret. They find Fluffy the three headed dog. Only a day later, Hagrid let slip that the dog was his, and the secret behind it was only between Dumbledore and Nicholas Flamel. It’s odd that Hagrid tells Harry the exact information to get the answer. Did Dumbledore tell him to? On Christmas, Harry conveniently gets a present (from Dumbledore) that allows him to move around the castle at night. Harry goes to the library to find Flamel. After another run in with Filch, Harry runs to the mirror of Erised. Entranced, Harry goes back every night. The last night he does this, Dumbledore is waiting. But Harry isn’t expelled. When Harry finds out who Flamel is, they hurry down the third floor corridor. Somehow, Harry makes it through the whole thing! It’s as if Dumbledore designed it that way…

In this episode I explain why Snape and Queenie are actually related. Enjoy!
Summary: Severus Snape and Queenie Goldstein are the most opposite characters in the Harry Potter universe. Snape is a teacher of potions at Hogwarts and isn’t very friendly to people. Snape can also read the minds of his enemies. Queenie has a very bubbly personality and is a great chef. Queenie and her sister Tina live in an apartment in New York City. Queenie is a natural legilimence. Can you spot any similarity? At first glance you may say no, but there is: mind reading. Both Snape and Queenie can read minds. They also happen to be related. Here’s why. Legilimency is only acquired by family. It can be learned, but not nearly as well. Second, there is play on words. The grandmother of a prince is a queen. Snape is the Half-Blood Prince. Could that mean that Queenine, the Queen, is Snape’s grandmother? Lastly, the lives of Snape and Queenie are vey similar. They couldn’t be around children for one reason or another, and neither family was wealthy. When they got older, both had a gap that needed to be filled. Snape was lonely and without friends. When he met Lily, someone who was just learning about being a witch, Snape jumped at the chance to be a teacher. Queenie was in the same situation. Her mind reading got her into lots of trouble. When she met Jacob, a person who needed something exciting in his life, Queenie felt like she was appreciated and loved. In the end, both chose love over life. When Grindelwald showed the crowd at the colosseum his visions, Jacob was scared of another war. Queenie stepped up and joined Grindelwald to stop it. Snape spent all his life protecting Lily. And in the end, his gave his life for her, too.

In this episode I tell you the full extent of Grindelwald’s big plan, as well as the origin of the fortune telling skull. Enjoy!
Summary: Gellert Grindelwald is one of the most scheming and sly characters in the Harry Potter universe. He makes webs of lies and cheats so he can rise to the top. His plans are better than any. So how does he make them? You may just think that he is a smart guy who knows what to do, but I think it has something to do with a fact J. K. Rowling let slip before The Crimes of Grindelwald came out. That fact is, Grindelwald is a seer. He can see the future. That helps him a lot because knowing what is going to happen before it does can allow him to position himself in the best way. So what vision could he have had that face him this knowledge? We can find out with his skull. Grindelwald has a skull that has a date and a German inscription on it. In English, the writing says “for the greater good”. The date is 1898. That’s so interesting because that phrase was invented by Albus Dumbledore in a letter he wrote to Grindelwald in 1899. One year later! Could that mean Grindelwald had a vision of Dumbledore writing that very same letter? If so, we now have our answer. In the letter Dumbledore wrote, basically tells Grindelwald what he does in the future. According to Dumbledore’s letter, Grindelwald went to Durmstrang, and got thrown out because he was using dark magic. That gives Grindelwald his entire life plan! Now all he has to do is follow what the letter says and eh will be fine. Now, for the second part of this theory. The skull. Where did it come from and who’s was it? To that, I give you the answer. Ariana Dumbledore. When Grindelwald left Dumbledore, it wasn’t pretty. Grindelwald might have harbored a grudge against Dumbledore for all this time. Grindelwald has also said that Ariana’s death was the first for the greater good. That is the same writing on the skull. If Grindelwald wanted to get back at Dumbledore, he certainly did.

In this episode I tell you what the true project was for Flamel and Dumbledore. Enjoy!
Summary: The creation of the Sorcerer’s Stone by Albus Dumbledore and Nicholas Flamel was an enormous leap forward in magical technology. But all the pieces don’t add up. Flamel was working on the stone for about 500 years before Dumbledore came along. Dumbledore only helped with the final tweaks a perfections. When the two announced their making to the world, it seemed as if both Flamel and Dumbledore had put in an equal amount of effort into the creation. What else did they do? I think Dumbledore was trying to bring his sister back to life. Here’s why. Dumbledore had a stone that gave a person endless life. If his sister was dead, that might be something Dumbledore wanted to use the stone for. The only roadblock here, is the stone only extends a life and doesn’t bring it back. What part of Ariana could still have been alive that day? Her obscuruse. Remember Newt Scamander? He had an obscuruse in a bubble. Newt says he got that obscuruse from a little girl around the time Ariana would have died. But we don’t see Ariana at all. Where is she? Did it even work? I think it did, but not for the intended reason. An apple seed taken from a tree makes an apple tree, but not the same one. Can you think of another obscuruse creation in that same timeline? Credence. Dumbledore developed an obscuruse as a child. While Dumbledore’s life went by, his obscuruse got stronger. When he finally started the process of bring Ariana back to life, some of his obscuruse affected the change. They created something new. And they didn’t even know it.

In this episode I explain the true meaning of the Tale of the Three Brothers. Enjoy!
Summary: The Tale of the Three Brothers was a driving force for Harry and his friends on his journey in the Deathly Hallows. However, the story might not just be a children’s story. I think there are four people in the Harry Potter universe that fit into the story’s three brothers and Death. Death is Dumbledore. In the Tale of the Three Brothers, Death is pulling the strings. He has a goal, and it works out the way he wants. Death gives the three brothers the items they seek. Those items led there owners to their deaths. The plan worked. Dumbledore did the same thing. He had a plan for the three brothers in the Harry Potter universe to die. Dumbledore did give all three people items that did the same thing as in the story as well. Voldemort is Antioch, the oldest brother. This works for obvious reasons. Both Antioch and Voldemort wanted as much power as a person could have, and they both got killed because of it. Snape is Cadmus, the second oldest brother. This also seems to be very simple. Cadmus wanted his deceased bride to return from the dead and be reunited with him. Snape wanted the same for Lily. For both men, their loved ones were killed and both Snape and Cadmus died. Finally, Ignotus is Harry. Ignotus gets the invisibility cloak for his wish. Dumbledore, Death, gives Harry, Ignotus, the invisibility cloak as well. Ignotus uses his cloak right up until the second he dies, when he take it off and gives it to his son. Harry, takes off his cloak in the forbidden forrest right when Voldemort kills him too. All the strings match, and they fit too.

In this episode I explain why Voldemort couldn’t return as a ghost. Enjoy!
Summary: Voldemort returning as a ghost wasn’t what was on everyone’s mind when Voldemort died. Why? The definition of being a ghost is having unfinished business with your killer. That is the summarized version of Voldemort’s life! He was dead set on killing Harry and elevating his own power level beyond anything that has ever been seen before. So when he was killed, why no ghost? I think Voldemort accidentally created multiple anti-horcruxes. They didn’t bind him to life, they bound him to death. This is happened because of all the stress being forced on his soul. In the season three finale, I tell you why Voldemort had hundreds of souls in side of him. Because of that, Voldemort’s own soul was being pushed deeper and deeper until it became Voldemort himself. He merged with his soul. So when he was killed all the souls in him left. And Voldemort was left just a shell with remnants of his soul. However, keep in mind his horcruxes were already destroyed. Because they became Voldemort himself, they could survive but in the realm of death. That means, that when Voldemort entered the realm of death himself, his horcruxes bound him to death instead.

In this episode I explain why all the souls Voldemort has destroyed influenced his life and killed him in the end. Enjoy!
Summary: It is no secret that Voldemort has killed a lot of people. The real secret is that the people Voldemort killed didn’t stay that way. They didn’t wake up like zombies with a hunger for brains, but their souls affected Voldemort even after their death. The first part of this theory is the souls’ survival. I think when Voldemort killed someone, their soul split and found the closest life form, Voldemort. There are only two people who have survived the killing curse. Harry Potter, of course but also Voldemort. It’s an oddly frequently overlooked fact, but Voldemort’s own killing curse rebounded off of Harry and hit him instead. What happened to Voldemort? His soul shattered and found Harry’s body to survive. If that is the case with everyone Voldemort has ever killed, he has dozens, maybe even hundreds, of souls inside of him. That could also affect his wand choice, which is the second part of this theory. The wand chooses the wizard. That is a common fact. The wand looks into your soul to see if it is the right wand for you. If the soul fits, the wand will become theirs. If the wand looks into the soul, what happened to Voldemort? His soul is changing all the time, so would his wand, too? I think so. Because Voldemort was always on the hunt for more power, he would have swapped wands many times. He is getting new souls all the time. When the wand he has gets too weak, he swaps. But with the added souls, Voldemort’s ‘perfect’ wand will be forever changing. And now for the last part of this theory. How and why did all the souls inside of Voldemort kill him. Voldemort’s downfall came when his wand was stripped from him and he fell into pieces. Literally. Why? Maybe the filmmakers wanted something exciting. There is an explainable solution however. If we revisit the scene in The Goblet of Fire, where Harry and Voldemort are battling in the graveyard, they lock spells and a golden dome appears. When the point where the killing curse and disarming charm meet reach Voldemort’s wand, souls start to pour out. Something very similar to that happened in The Deathly Hallows. After Voldemort and Harry have their flying fist fight, they crash land in the Courtyard. When they grab their wands and stand up, they have their final duel. When the two spells reach Voldemort again, Voldemort’s wand is blasted out of his hand and grabbed by Harry. Why no souls? Well, there were. You just have to look closer. Because the souls didn’t have Voldemort’s wand as an exit, they used something else. Voldemort himself.

In this episode I explain the true purpose of the subject astronomy. Enjoy!
Summary: The wizarding subject astronomy seems to be a waste of time. We never really see a true meaning for it. Today I explain why I think there is. Maybe, astronomy is another detail put in by J. K. Rowling to make the book pop. This could be true as many people are named after things in space. Astronomy could be something taught to young students so the general wizard population would know more about it. This too seems promising, but if its being taught to them, how could wizards not already know? There are some many options, but I think I have narrowed it down to one. The knowledge. And not astronomy itself. The practice of astronomy could help wizards do other things. As we have seen, some potions need to be brewing or consumed on a specific day or time when the moon or stars are in the right place. This is also true for spells. The animagus spells lasts for a month! And not done when the moon is full, leads to death. Astronomy isn’t the study of space. It’s the building block of everything.

In this episode I explain why Harry can’t see thestrals. Enjoy!
Summary: Harry has seen his fair share of death throughout his life. However, the magical creatures known as thestrals were only started being visible in his fifth year. As you know, when a person sees death, they can see thestrals. Btu Harry only saw them after Cedric was killed. Why? Well, maybe Harry actually didn’t see death. He could have blinked right when the killing curse hit whom ever it was intended to hit. That is a solid argument for about four seconds when we realize the mental acceptance is what counts. When someone sees death and fully accepts it happened, thestrals will appear to them. I want to stay on that topic for a second. I don’t think Harry fit those requirements. When his mother was killed it happened right on front of him, yes, but he was only one. As a baby, death might not be a fully formed concept in his mind. But what about Quirrel? Harry was much older and Quirrel died right in front of him. This could be explained, because I don’t think Quirrel fully died. Keep in mind, Quirrel and Voldemort were very close and seemed to be the same person. You get it? Voldemort survived! He flew off right before Quirrel died so he wouldn’t follow. Only half of that life force was killed. It was only when Cedric was killed when Harry realized. His friend was dead. And there was no going back.

In this episode I explain why I think the Hog’s Head bar is Valhalla. Enjoy!
Summary: When I say ‘Hog’s Head’ and ‘Valhalla’ in the same sentence, you might think there is no way those two things have anything in common. Today I want to show you why the Hog’s Head and Valhalla are the same thing. To start, let’s talk about goats. Aberforth Dumbledore, the owner and bartender at the Hog’s Head, has a connection with goats. He has had them since he was a kid, and still keeps them in his bar to this day. Why? And how are goats connected to Valhalla? I’ll tell you. In Norse mythology there is an enormous “world tree” that connects the nine worlds. Laroar is the biggest branch of the world tree, which is situated in Valhalla. On that branch there is a creature named Heidrun. Heidrun just so happens to be a goat. From their udders comes mead. Aberfoth also serves mead. There are two more creatures around the tree. First is the stag Dvalinn. From Dvalinn’s antlers flows the water that makes the rivers go. Goats and stags are clearly shown to be very close when the death eaters demand Aberforth to cast his patronus in the seventh book. The other creature in Laroar is the hog Saehrimnir. Saehrimnir is hunted and killed every night for the warriors in Valhalla. The best part of Saehrimnir is the head. The Hog’s Head.

In this episode I explain how the horcrux in Harry survived. Enjoy!
Summary: The bit of Voldemort’s soul inside of Harry was a big deal in the Harry Potter books. So many things happened because of it and it caused a whole lot of trouble. But it also had its fair share of damage. For some reason, it could survive the basilisk venom injected into Harry in the second book. How did the happen? Maybe, Harry was the deciding factor. If Harry died, so would the horcrux. But that makes no sense, as Hermione has said the container of a horcrux doesn’t matter (in this case Harry). Maybe it all boils down to luck. The venom might have hit just the right spot for Harry to live long enough to get a cure. Fawks might have arrived on the scene right on time. As much as I want to believe that to be true, I don’t think it is. In that same passage Hermione said, the container of a horcrux can be damaged, and the soul inside would be fine. Is that not what happened here? As a human, Harry could take a lot more than a book or cup. The venom was inside him, but he was fine. (Except for the fact he was dying). Then Fawks come in, and life went on.

In this episode I explain Ariana’s secret. Enjoy!
Summary: Ariana Dumbledore was the sister of Albus and Aberforth Dumbledore. She was killed in the famous duel between her brothers and Grindlewald. However, I don’t think she was just a sister. She was something more. Ariana is an obscurial. An obscurial is the host body of the obscuruse. This theory revolves around one passage Aberforth said in the seventh book. He said, “It destroyed her what they did. She was never right again. She wouldn’t use magic but she couldn’t get rid of it. It turned inward and drove her mad. It exploded out of her when she couldn’t control it.” That sounds a lot like Credence. His foster mom beat him because of his magical blood. When his emotions ran wild, he would explode. This passage also revealed that Ariana was attacked. That would explain when the obscuruse formed. And when it died, so did she.

In this episode I explain how any person could block the killing curse. Enjoy!
Summary: Avada Kadavra are the two last words many people hear. The killing curse is known for its cruelty, but mostly for the fact that it is almost impossible to block. Harry Potter is the only known human in history to have survived the killing curse. So how can an unblock-able curse be blocked? Many people will say, “It can’t be blocked! That’s why they call it unblock-able.” Those people do have a point. But so do I. I first thought the block would be a spell or rare immunity. I was wrong. The true block of the killing curse is gold. Here are some examples. First, in the fifth book, Dumbledore and Voldemort are having a duel in the Ministry of Magic. Because of all the killing curses flying around, Dumbledore enchants a large wizard statue to protect Harry and his friends. A killing curse does come their way, but it just bounces off the statue. That is because the statue was made of gold. In that same fight, a killing curse gets through Dumbledore’s defenses and is heading straight for him. Fawks then joins the fight, but is quickly out of it when he is hit by a killing curse. Somehow, he survived. Phoenix colors are red and gold. In the fourth book when Harry and Voldemort are dueling in the graveyard, they lock spells. Harry is casting a dis-arming charm and Voldemort is casting the killing curse. When Harry won the battle for control, a golden dome appears. More gold! I think that was because the twin cores didn’t want to fight. Harry’s wand knew the defense and cast it. The same thing happened when he and Hagrid were on the motorbike flying to the Burrow in the seventh book. Voldemort cast the killing curse and Harry’s wand acted and shot golden fire at Voldemort. Finally, again in the seventh book, Harry and his friends are in the Dursley’s house debating the best way to get to their safe-houses. Hermione rips a hair off of Harry’s head and puts it into a flask of polyjuice potion. It turned gold. That shows us that Harry’s essence is gold. That is why he could survive the killing curse. Gold (and sometimes a good dose of sacrificial love) is a match for the killing curse.
